2 cups whole, dried sorrel ( dried hibiscus)
The peel of 1 orange
2 cinnamon sticks
6 cups of water
2 inches of ginger root, sliced thin for mild flavor or chopped/ grated for stronger flavor
1 cup of sugar
To Dilute:
Water , rum, ginger beer, and/or ice as desired
Directions
Step 1
Peel the orange and slice or grate the ginger
Step 2
Add all ingredients to a pot, cover and bring to a simmer. 10-14 mins
Step 3
Simmer another 30 minutes to extract all the spiced goodness.
Step 4
Cool in refrigerator overnight for strongest flavor
Step 5
Strain , mix with ice , water and rum, or ginger beer
